Mammography technologists are often the first – and sometimes only – point of contact patients have within the breast imaging department, placing them on the frontline of patient education and reassurance. Frontline Mammography: Easy Answers to Tough Patient Questions is designed to equip technologists with clear, evidence-based responses to the wide range of frequent, difficult, obscure, and trending questions patients bring to their appointments. This talk emphasizes answering with facts, compassion, and understanding while addressing patient concerns related to comfort, exam side effects, cancer risk, and screening recommendations. Topics will also include lifestyle influences on breast health (such as hormone replacement therapy and GLP-1 medications), technical considerations of imaging and modality selection, timing of imaging, and emerging, but often misunderstood, technologies such as non-FDA-approved imaging. The goal is to empower technologists to respond confidently and accurately while enhancing the patient experience.
