This course will cover the fundamentals of standardized positioning techniques for mammography that have long been used for general radiology. An understanding of correlation anatomy is critical and will be helpful to technologists when learning the best positioning techniques and the ability to problem solve to improve image quality. The information provided in this presentation is essential to understanding mammography positioning. You will understand: 1) What you are doing, 2) When to do it, and 3) Why it’s important, before learning to do the “How”. This lecture not only provides the rationale behind each positioning “step” but provides very clear instructions (via video clips) to assure that the learner understands the positioning technique and therefore easily replicate it in clinical practice.

Speaker: Louise C. Miller, R.T.(R)(M)(ARRT), CRT(M), FSBI, FNCBC
