The use of standardized, data-proven positioning techniques is critical in producing the highest quality images in the most efficient, proficient, consistent, and ergonomically sound manner. This Online Mammography Positioning Training course provides advanced training for new and experienced mammographers with a series of five video lectures.

Ms. Louise Miller, R.T.(R)(M) will start by discussing correlation in anatomy and reviewing the fundamentals of standardized positioning techniques for mammography, which are essential to understanding mammography positioning and have long been used for general radiology. She will then walk you through in detail the rationale behind each positioning “step” for the CC and MLO views and provide very clear step-by-step instructions, so you can easily replicate the technique in your clinical practice. From there, she moves on to the additional views, explaining the “why” and “when” to use each view, along with mammographic examples, so you achieve desired. Finally, Ms. Miller show you specific techniques for imaging patients with unique body habitus and situations, allowing you to set realistic goals regarding what can, or cannot, be accomplished in terms of image quality.
